Kobold press actual play at GameCon Canada:

This past weekend (June 14,15, and 16th 2024) I had the honor and privilege of Game Mastering for small but fierce Kobold Press. Myself and several other seasoned GM's guided dozens of players through adventures featuring Tales of the Valiant, a brand new set of TTRPG rules based off of the SRD for Dungeons and Dragons 5th edition. This backwards compatible 5th edition game system features a number of fun and interesting upgrades and changes that made for exciting and engaging gameplay sessions. Of particular note was the luck points mechanic, and optional DOOM points rule. This rule replaces inspiration with luck points that accumulate whenever your fail a skill check, saving throw or attack role, allowing for adding to a role after its made, or spending 3 luck points for a re-roll. Doom points allows the GM to do the same! Devious! Celeste, Kimberly, Dot, Zach, Kendrick and the rest of the Kobold press team were great, and I had an all star cast of players at my table all three days. Look for me doing more Kobold Press one-shots and mini campaigns in the near future!

The GameCon was a complete success for me as I won the Authentic Dungeon's DM challenge on Friday night, beating out 14 other seasoned Dungeon Masters and engaging around 70 players! I treated myself to a D&D one-shot with the incomparable Mark Meer and got to play, for a change, as Kranklin Shortwick; a rock gnome artillerist looking for vengeance against the goblins that killed his dog Gygax. I had a blast.

I did different cosplay each day, and played over 20 hours of D&D. GameCon was the best, and I can't wait to do it all again next year!
