Hearken, adventurers, to the tale of a grand quest—our journey to the Second Annual Dungeons & Dragons Gathering at the enchanted realm of Good Knights Entertainment. Long had it been since we first rode forth to partake in their famed Saturday Night Feast, a most magical revelry where even noble garb was bestowed upon the guests. Since that day, our hearts have been spellbound by this mystical land.
This time, we embarked upon a full quest—a weekend-long immersion within the very walls of Good Knights’ noble compound. Lady Linda the Kind and Sir Daniel the Valiant welcomed us with open arms and hearts warm as dragonfire. Alongside their noble companions, they bestowed upon us comforts so rich, we feared we’d stumbled into a bard’s dream.
The history of this sacred place runs deep. Once but humble pavilions among the Society for Creative Anachronism, the grounds have since flourished into a kingdom of marvels. A yurt now rises beside canvas tents; Romani wagons rest beneath starlit skies; and nestled within the hillside lies the Burrow, a home fit for the most esteemed of Hobbits. We knew then—we had found our tribe.
Sir Daniel, ever the gracious host, gave us a private tour ere the others arrived. Each dwelling, a sanctuary of charm and detail, was so wondrously appointed that we oft forgot to draw our sketching stones (alas, no photos were captured).
At last, we climbed the hill to the Burrow—our home for the quest. Within, we discovered a realm of cozy splendor. Every nook whispered of thoughtful artistry: trinkets, relics, and enchanted oddities adorned the walls. Though there was no soaking tub for weary bones, the shower was both elegant and accessible, and outside, a bubbling cauldron of warmth (hot tub!) beckoned under the stars.
The kitchen? Why, a Hobbit’s dream! From the half-fridge with icy vault to the cunning little oven, every pot, pan, and enchanted implement one could need was present. The mural behind the hearth was an illusionist’s masterwork—it conjured the feeling that the Burrow stretched deep into the earth, confusing even the most astute gaze.
And the hearth! Though fueled by no flame, its warmth and the soft, crackling whispers it sang made it easy to imagine old Bilbo himself enjoying pipeweed in the firelight.
On the eve of the quest, all adventurers were summoned to the Tavern. There, the parties were assembled, Dungeon Masters introduced, and the Barkeep—a delightful spirit—kept goblets filled and moods aloft. Though the night air bit with chill, the Tavern’s hearth and cheer held the darkness at bay.
All lodgings—be they yurt, tent, or wagon—were warded with warmth: enchanted heaters and heated mattress pads ensured no soul went cold.
Come morn, we feasted upon continental bounty provided by the Good Knights—coffee brewed by wizards, muffins kissed by fairy dust, and fruits plucked from elven groves (or so we believed). We dined beside fellow travelers at covered tables, swapping tales of glory and failed stealth rolls.
Then, the true adventure began. Gaming sessions erupted across three grand venues: the Burrow, the Tavern, and the mighty Feast Hall. Sir Daniel made the rounds, ever diligent in his efforts to warm the halls with fire and friendship. Laughter echoed, dice clattered like dragon bones, and the quests unfolded with ferocity and flair.
The second evening brought camaraderie anew in the Tavern, where mead and mirth flowed freely. But on the final morn, the Dungeon Masters, with a flourish, reshuffled the fates—new parties were forged, and quests reborn! The surprise twist made for a thrilling climax to our weekend saga.
Throughout it all, the presence of Lady Linda was felt in every lovingly crafted meal. Though she remained hidden like a forest spirit, her magic was in every bite. Sir Daniel, the kingdom’s heart, remained ever gracious—a bard, a builder, and a brother to all. And “Tyrsa” (forgive us, noble one, if our spelling is wicked!) was a delight, attending to the needs of each guest with the finesse of a court mage.
To dwell in fantasy so wholly, even for but a weekend, is an experience that words scarcely do justice. We left Good Knights feeling like royalty, our spirits full, our hearts overflowing.
Mark thy scrolls, brave travelers: on the May long weekend in 2026, the Third Annual DnD Weekend shall arise! Reserve your place in this living legend. We’ll be there, dice in hand, ready for the next chapter.
